Welcome
In order to make sure that you get the most out of your membership here at Life Unscripted we have created this guide. The guide is designed specifically for new members or members who have been away for an extended period of time. It is a guide on how to become involved into the community and ways to meet people on the forum. This guide is frequently updated and if any of this has every helped you in your transition from new member to a regular member please let us know.
Introduction Board
One of the biggest things about a general chat forum is that if so many people are chatting at once it is difficult to join the chat especially if they clearly have known each other long. we recommend that as soon as you join the forum that you go to the introduction board. The introduction board isn't specially designed any different than other boards, but it is the primary go to board for finding members with interest and stories like yours. When you post in the introduction board don't just mention your name and start a question and answer game! Post a lavish mini biography about yourself--what do you like to do in your free time, language you speak, places you have traveled, why you joined the forum, music you listen to...anything really to get the ball rolling on conversations. This board out of all boards tend to receive the most hits by both members and guest so your introduction is important! Go over there and post now!
Playing in the Arcade Board
Believe it or not many members tend to head to the arcade board when they first register for a forum regardless of it is a general forum such as this or it is a roleplaying forum. Why? Arcade boards are considered neutral zones, its a place where only spontaneous jokes and ideas are made and shared. There are no debates and if anything the zone is used to boost up a user's appearance on the forum so that members can notice they are here to stay. Some may be called the extreme gamer if you meet people only after playing games with them but in this light neutral zone it is the optimal place for new members to move into. Now click here to post games and create your own
Using the Chatbox
What can be more quick and stress free than posting in the chatbox which refreshes itself regularly? For new members the chat box is a great way to say a quick hello the community and to peek in on what has been occurring on the forum. The only negative to chatboxes is that is someone else isn't online with you--your going to have a pretty lonely conversation. We advise that you never replace the old fashion introduction post in the introduction board for a hello in the chatbox. You may have used it as a guest to get more information about the forum--so find members that you had converse with.
Starting your own topic
This is something almost everyone forgets to do, including senior members. If the conversations that are posted are not to your liking then open up your own! This doesn't mean that everyone should repeat post in order to avoid whatever awkwardness they are feeling, however is a thread is seemingly becoming exceedingly long and you believe your voice won't be heard then take apart of the conversation and expand it into another thread.
Join A Team
The reason this forum has established teams, unlike general forums is to built the community and encourage member interaction. In several educational studies teams or group participation builds confidence and overall happiness and security within an individual. It is nothing serious as taking classes or bashing another team but it is a bases of commonality for members. In order to register for a team click here and read the information
Asking Questions
What better way to work your way around the forum than to ask question? Whether you are PMing a Staff members or posting in the resource center it is a first step to making sure you are clear about what is occurring here
